Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about our silicone inks, technical processes, samples, and ordering.
General
What types of silicone ink does Sejin offer?
Sejin offers silicone inks and related materials for textile printing, including screen-printable silicone inks, color concentrates, catalysts, additives, coatings, adhesives, primers, and specialty formulations. Each product line is designed for specific printing methods, fabric types, and performance requirements.
Are your products compatible with different fabric types?
Sejin silicone inks are used on a wide range of textiles, including cotton, polyester, nylon, spandex blends, and performance fabrics. However, adhesion, curing, stretch, and wash durability may vary depending on the substrate, fabric treatment, dye type, and production conditions. We recommend sample testing before mass production, especially for coated, dyed, or heat-sensitive fabrics.
Where are your products manufactured?
Sejin Silicone is headquartered in South Korea and supports customers through its production and supply network in Asia. For specific manufacturing, export, or logistics requirements, please contact us directly.
Products & Applications
What is the difference between SJS-3880 and SJS-8049-K7?
SJS-3880 is designed for automatic machine printing, where longer pot life and stable continuous processing are important. SJS-8049-K7 is designed for manual screen printing, with good workability and handling during production.
What is SJS-2650 used for?
SJS-2650 is a high-concentration color concentrate system used with compatible silicone base inks to create standard or customized colors for textile printing.
Do you offer products for stretch fabrics?
Yes. Sejin offers silicone ink systems designed for stretch, flexibility, and resistance to cracking after curing. The recommended product depends on the fabric composition, stretch level, printing thickness, and required wash durability.
Do you offer products for polyester dye migration?
Yes. Sejin offers products designed to help reduce dye migration on polyester fabrics. Product selection may vary depending on fabric color, dye type, curing conditions, and printing process. Pre-testing is recommended before bulk production.
Do you offer gloss, matte, or specialty finishes?
Yes. Sejin offers gloss and matte top-coat products, as well as specialty coating systems for different surface effects and performance requirements. Please contact us with your target finish and application details.
Do you offer adhesives or primers?
Yes. Sejin offers two-part adhesive systems and primers for transfers, glitter applications, and fabrics that require improved bonding performance. Product selection depends on the substrate, transfer method, and final durability requirements.
Technical
What is pot life?
Pot life refers to the usable working time after silicone ink is mixed with catalyst. It is an important factor for maintaining stable viscosity, printability, curing performance, and production efficiency.
Why is catalyst selection important?
Catalyst affects curing, adhesion, elasticity, working time, and final print performance. The correct catalyst type and mixing ratio should be selected according to the product system and process conditions. Please follow the recommended guidelines for each product.
How is silicone ink cured?
Silicone inks are generally cured with heat. Curing conditions vary depending on the product, catalyst, fabric type, printing thickness, and equipment. Please refer to the relevant technical data sheet or consult Sejin for recommended processing conditions.
What can cause curing inhibition?
Curing inhibition can occur when silicone ink comes into contact with certain fabrics, additives, contaminants, coatings, or incompatible materials. Because fabric treatments and dye systems vary widely, compatibility testing is recommended before mass production.
Can viscosity, stretch, or working time be adjusted?
Yes. Sejin offers additives and modifiers that can help adjust viscosity, working time, elongation, and other processing or performance characteristics depending on the formulation and production requirements.
Samples & Documents
Can you accommodate custom formulations or OEM development?
Yes. Sejin can discuss custom color matching, viscosity adjustment, additive integration, and formulation development for customers with specific performance requirements. OEM or private-label projects may be available depending on product type, volume, and technical feasibility.
What is your minimum order quantity?
Minimum order quantity varies by product, color, formulation, and destination. Standard products and custom-developed products may have different requirements. Please contact us with your target product and estimated volume so we can recommend the most suitable option.
Do you offer samples?
Yes. Samples may be available for evaluation depending on the product type, destination, and customer requirements. For the most accurate recommendation, please provide your fabric type, printing method, target effect, curing conditions, and performance requirements.
How should silicone ink be stored?
Silicone ink should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Containers should be tightly sealed after use. Two-part systems should be mixed only in the required amount for immediate use to avoid premature curing. Please refer to the product documentation for specific storage and shelf-life information.
What information should we provide when contacting Sejin?
To help us recommend the most suitable product, please provide your fabric type, printing method, target effect, current issue, curing conditions, printing equipment, and required performance such as stretch, adhesion, wash durability, gloss/matte finish, or dye-migration resistance.
